Search the help text or docs for, if there exists support for, an /escape/ character in that context.

FWiW, as I have no sfw on which to test:

When a character is used to facilitate certain functionality, for example used to express a generic, often times a backslash character will be enabled to serve the purpose of escaping. So for example, the equivalent effect of the SQL predicate MbrTxt LIKE '%*%' might be achieved using the following search string:

\*

And if that is functional, then searching a backslash would require specifying:

\\

Given the lone asterisk implies all-inclusive, another possibility would be that an asterisk [itself] could be offered as an escape character, such that the search string for a single asterisk would be:
