That's what I wanted to do, so it works for what I want.

Sometimes I want to see what the screen looks like without going ACS "green screen", and maybe even develop using the screen designer. At some point in the future though, I hope to get to the point where I don't use it much anymore.

We'll see. I'm just about a year into RDi and can't spend as much time "ciphering" it as I'd like to, or need to.

Re: [WDSCI-L] Open IBM i Member Shortcut for DDS Design

Duane,

I change my preference to open in the DDS Designer...

Windows>Preferences>General>Editors>File associations

"*.DSPF" I have my mine as "Screen Designer (default)"

The only thing I miss, is that I cannot use the Record/Play-back in
the source view from the DDS "Source-Tab", other than that, it is
pretty much like the LPEX editor in the "source-tab".

-Ken Killian-

That opens it in the Screen Designer, but Duane is talking about switching perspectives to the DDS Design Perspective. I used to use that perspective, but have since abandoned it as I didn't find that it really added anything to my productivity. I just set up my normal editing perspective in a way that works for all IBM i source types.

I'm not finding a shortcut for opening an IBM i member for DDS Design.
The shortcut CTRL/SHIFT/A or CTRL/ALT/M opens a source member for
edit, but switching perspectives to DDS Design after the fact doesn't
quite do the trick.

Am I not seeing it?

Duane

I don't think so. You might be able to open a PMR/SR--the preference
reads: "Open the associated perspective when the editor opens". Since it sounds like that is not happening.
