Ken, I think this is well worth an RFE to come up with a more usable
approach.

Wow, this is hilarious!!!!
In regards to QSHELL not echo command like Dos-Shell, Bash, Terminal,
Green-Screen-QSHELL, etc...
You can do one save to file for the COMMANDS you TYPED in ONLY.
And then on the other "Save to file" you get only the output to the
Display, WITHOUT the commands.
Why would you ever want them separated?
Save-one "Save the output of shell of the selected shell to a file".
Save-Two "Export the command History for the select shell to a file".
Have fun trying to match them up! No wonder why the Java Developer laughs
at the IBM QSHELL.
Welcome to IBM i uniqueness to make things difficult! Brilliant!
PS. I request my PMR to be closed out, since this is "As Designed
Brilliance"

There is a save icon in the view in the upper right. Hover over the icon
and it pops up a tool tip with "Export the command history for the selected
shell to a file". This exports the commands you enter in the Command
input.
Thanks, Matt

HI,
I am working with a Java Programmer, and using QSHELL inside of RDI 9.5.0.3
Sadly, I am getting no Echo of commands, like I do with DOS-Shell, how do I
turn that feature on?
Inside a DOS Shell, I see the commands I entered at the command line. But,
using QSHELL in RDI, I have no logging of the commands I enter! WTF!
I tried the command Echo on, that does not make the command echo...
Java developer asked me what type of Shell, does not echo the command you
typed in? How do you turn that on?
http://archive.midrange.com/wdsci-l/201507/msg00113.html
I asked previously, but didn't get an answer...
PS. Should I open a PMR?
