Sorry, you're right. The Python method I was using when I wrote my
previous post only shows "subgroups" (and there are no subgroups
without explicit capture). When I use the method that shows the entire
match, Python does return the '2' in 'B2B'.
So yeah, I would expect regexp_substr to return it as well. I agree
with you that it looks like a bug.
