There are two groups of ports required to be open. One is required all the time for validating the license key, the other is required to obtain the license key. I believe if you open just the vendor port, you can use the flex key, but you cannot allocate a new one.

Folks:

I'm trying to get the Rational license server running on a machine here and can't figure out what ports to open.

I tried opening 27000-27009, as I found referenced in some IBM docs, but the licenses aren't getting served out properly.

If I disable the firewall entirely, the license server works fine.

Any suggestions?
