Gee, when something fails on Green-Screen, I look at the job log. It does NOT automatically popup.

The same about RDI, I open the view called “Command Log”. There I can see if something wrong happen on my build command.

My ILE program might NOT have Syntax errors, but fail on the build. And the job log shows me the error…

I have my compiles not to submit to batch. If you submit your compiles to batch, then look at the job log there.

Note: Your connection to RDI is Batch-job already. Which is why I do not submit them to another separate batch job.

On 2nd thought, *EVENTF will display the listing errors - not things
such as you describe - so far as I know, anyhow.

Hi,

Is there an option to make RDi show an error dialog after a compile failed?

The problem is that RDi does not show any error information when a compile, started from the RSE, failed or when there is a typo in the compile command. For example at a first look everything seems to be fine after compiling a RPG module with command CRTFOOMOD or CRTTBL!

Only the job log of the server job (QZRCSRVS) indicates the error:

Client request - run command CRTFOOMOD.
Command CRTFOOMOD in library *LIBL not found.
Error found on CRTFOOMOD command.

Of course there is nothing in the "Error list", but there is also nothing in the "Error Log", which makes it difficult to spot the error.

Thomas.
