Ken,
You shouldn't need PTFs to use 240 columns in RDi.
You will need PTFs to compile it, if your source goes beyond column 80 or
before column 5.

You also will have to code "**free" on column 1 of the source.
Make sure there are no yellow triangles in the source (can tell at a glance
by looking at the right hand side of the editor for yellow rectangles, this
is a proportional view for the entire source).

I switch my source to 240, and now the outline does not work....

I notice doing a verify, that it says I am missing PTF...

Maybe I jumped the gun switching my source file. <grin>

Oh well, ask the System administrator for an update...

An easy way to get developers using RDi is creating the source files where
SRCDTA is greater than 240 bytes. SEU throws a severity 40 EDT0303 message
and they can't open it. They might as well get used to it with IBM opening
up the first 5 bytes and removing the 80 byte limit. Unless IBM changes
it's other mind, SEU is as dead as DDS.

Cheers,
jon

first?

Installed this morning and added FixPack 2. Piece of cake.

Thanks to all for their help.

Now, I have to try out the new goodies, install it on 7 more PC's and get
people using it. I'm still amazed at the resistance to it. But, some are
still coding fixed format RPG also. Yuck!

Put Data Studio back on too Going to see how I like it compared to SQL
Workbecnh/J.
