I was pointing this out for those that might be having trouble. Since the
new feature didn't exist until 2.7, the Check for Updates is potentially a
poor way of checking for updates, because you might never see new features,
which is kind of the point of checking for updates.

It is corect that updating a plug-in only updates the currently installed
features. It does not install additional components. For that you need to
select "Install New Software".

I did the "Install New Software" function in RDi, and it worked great. One
of my coworkers updated to 2.7 by doing the "Check for Updates" function,
and he didn't get the message subsystem. I wonder if, since the message
subsystem is listed as a separate component, that it didn't get picked up
during the check for updates. The resolution was to run the Install new
software function for him, and I had done on my own system.

The "iSphere Messages" subsytsem should be a sub node of your RSE
connection. Are you sure that you selected the "iSphere Message Subsystem
for RDi 8.0+ (optional)" feature when you updated to 2.7?

I can't find a "iSphere Messages Subsystem" in any filter-pools/connections
in RDi or in the iSphere help. Can you point me at it? (I'm running RDi 9.5

It is time to update your iSphere plug-in to version 2.7.0.
Here is the list of features we added to the new version:
* Added the iSphere Messages Subsystem. Read the help text!
* Added option "regular expression" to source file search.
* Added "Appearance" preferences page to specify date and
time formats different from the locale RDi has been started
with.
* Added checkbox to select whether the message help text is
displayed as formatted text when displaying a message
description in the iSphere Message File Editor.
* Changed message description editor to allow resizing of
message help text and message field format areas.
* Now the version of the iSphere library is displayed on
the '€œLibrary' preferences page.
* Changed RSE filter manager to automatically add file
name extensions when selecting a filter repository.

Notice: You need to update the iSphere library on your IBM i when
installing 2.7.0.
A lot of the new features have been realized because of your feedback.
