I tried this as well... but I'm not seeing any difference at all.

I'm not using a network drive or thumb drive or anything like that, but... when it made a difference for Vern, I thought maybe it'd make a diff for me too, but... it does not, it's exactly the same.

It's not a problem, really... the startup time doesn't bother me at all. I love ACS. I find it hard to understand why anyone would resist using it (unless they need EHLLAPI for something, but I haven't used that in many years...)

Even more thanks, I think!

I uncommented that line in AceConfig.properties file - started a multiple-session, closed it, then started again - marked improvement in startup - and this is local - so it's not just for network or thumb drives, IMO.

Thanks, Edmund - I'll try that.

I've not looked yet in the docs (RTFM, right?) but is there anything about Java memory allocation settings at start up? They are sometimes recommended for RDi.

I spoke to the developer about ideas to improve startup time and he said:

There's one trick that can help startup time, particularly if running from
a thumb drive or network share. Just put a line containing
"com.ibm.iaccess.DataCache=true" into the AcsConfig.properties file.
