For me, not checking the return code is simply laziness. I know that to properly code defensively, I should always check, even for the most mundane of operations... including a SET.

He might not payed attention for it in FNDSTR, because he might rated
SYSTABLES as "rock solid".

Background: I long provided support for the underlying feature, the *DBXREF.

In my experience, many who are in a support role may tend toward imagining, that for any feature for which their support is being provided, an implication by anyone else that the feature could reasonably be described as being "rock solid" always will remain a /pipe dream/ [i.e. seems a fantasy, never to be fulfilled] :-)

Surely due solely to my past role, my relationship to the feature likely will forever remain best described with the expression, "Trust, but verify" ;-)
