When editing ILE RPG using the Remote Systems LPEX Editor in
Rational Developer for i (RDI) 9.5.0 if the outline view has

would cause the outline view to be empty. The outline view
throws an exception (SWTException) that is logged in the

Save any pending changes then close and reopen the editor. The
outline view will then function normally again."

Edmund,
Thanks! I didn't seem to get a "Crash/Dump" button like RDI 9.1.1.1. No
biggie.
IBM Support (PMR 38568,442) has been able to duplicate my error on the code
verifier. I made a mistake saying that RDI 9.5 Crash. Actually I got a
message basically saying I got a java null pointer thing. And then suggest
that I restart RDI to fix. After I say "NO" to the restart RDi 9.5,
everything seems to work great. (Except for false verify error on SQL in
procedures.)
So, saying a "CRASH" was NOT CORRECT. I apologize for that incorrect
statement.
On that reported issue, (PMR 38568,442), beside besides false embedded sql
verify errors, I ran into an error on "PREFIX" statement apparently caused
an a verify errors on RDI 9.5. Wow! IBM support has duplicated the error
already. I had to send them several source files, including some table DDL
source. Thanks to my co-worker Mitch, for actually discovering it was the
"Prefix" Statement that generated false verify errors! Thanks Mitch!
So, I am using RDI 9.5 for my work, and working well over all. Except the
already reported "Verify Error". I normally use the compiler, so NOT a BIG
deal to me. So, will look forward to an eventual fixes on patch/service
release.
And IBM Support has been able to duplicate the "FORMATTER" error (PMR
35067,442), that I encounter. No big deal for me, since I use a 3rd Party,
"indenter/Update" rpgle code. <grin> That does NOT update the source-date.
I got an APAR SE62948 for the formatter.
Wow! The RDI Team is hard and fast working! <Big Smile> And IBM support has
been Great! Thanks Mike Hockings! Great Support, and rapid response and
updates! Glad we purchase the support! <smile>
GO RDI 9.5!!!
Eagerly awaiting the TR release to BE FREE of 55-years plug ancient
Punch-Card Columns 8-80!!! HURRY UP!!! <Big Nerdy Smile>
Thanks!

Just delete them Ken, without any context, that will probably not be
helpful.
There were most likely caused by the program verifier crashes.

Hi,
Using RDi 9.5, and trying to install IBM Data-Studio 4.1.2, and I checked
my directory. And I notice some dump files. Should I send them to IBM? I
have no idea what I was doing when they were generated....
Or should I just delete them?

So are you saying you have seen the UPPERCASING bug at all?
I haven't seen it that I can remember. I do have an issue where I'm trying
to hit some CTRL key combination and I accidentally hit the upper case
combination, so your issue may have happened to me, and I just figured I
hit the wrong keys. Maybe that's what is happening to you.
