Most likely your DDM server was in a bad state and not willing to connect.
So ending and restarting solved the issue foryou.

Finally working.

What I did was right click on my connection, go to Remote Servers, DDM,
end. Also ended File and Data Queue (I guess these are job related). I
disconnected as well. When I tried to reconnect, I got flooded with warning
messages that the connection was lost and I needed to restart. I noticed
one of the warning messages said I have to do STRTCPSVR *DDM and STRHOSTSVR
*ALL.

I did that, and now I am able to connect and edit members, no problem.

I assume that by ending the host svr, cleared out any old jobs and
processes that may have been causing the issue?

Thank you all again for your help!
Art Duarte

The callback has no bearing on the inability to open a member and -clean
will not resolve it either.

Things to check in this case are that you have no "bad" libraries specified
in your *jobd that no longer exist or you don't have access to.

Check that the DDM server is started if the verify connection was OK then
that is not the case and the require ports are accessible.

Access of your IBM i id to use the DDM server is enabled by default but can
be disabled by the system operator in order to secure the machine. Try
running the DSPNETA command on the green-screen and look for the value
forDDM REQUEST ACCESS, in my case it is *OBJAUT. If it is otherwise then
you may need to have your system operator change the setting for you or
enroll your ID in the list that allows it remote access.

Also there can be 3rd party security or anti-virus programs run on the IBM
i that will hook into the DDM server exit processing and in this case your
ID would need to be configured in the security program to allow DDM access
from outside of the IBM i itself. Again, this is something that your
machine admin should be able to help you with.

Everyone, thank you once again for your help.

I did a verify connection, and something came up.

Checking server callbacks
Checking callback to RSE daeom
Callback to 192.168.221.6
on port 4300 failed
Callback to
LENOVO0ART.kcx.com on port 4300 failed

Thoughts?

Thank you
Art Duarte

You could also try adding '-clean' to your command-line arguments. If that
doesn't help, the next thing would be to create a new workspace. If
everything works with the new workspace, there's something corrupted in
your current workspace. (I had this problem once and after a -clean and
restarting my PC everything worked okay.)

One other thing. Does everything check okay if you right-click on 'Objects'
within your RSE connection and select 'Verify Connection...'?

[WDSCI-L] RDI RSEF1002 Error

Hoping someone can help me with this issue.

Two days ago I was working on a program using rdi, which then locked
and was not responding. I closed rdi and ended the program. When I
went back in, opening a member, I started getting error RSEF1002:

Operation failed. File system input or output error
