I didn't realize RPG had cross-reference data in the outline view. Yes
that would be nice to have in COBOL.

I am using Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V. It had something to do when they added all
the column support after WDSC, could not just copy and paste one line if
you started the copy from Column 1. The pasting of the line stops at
Column 7.

I tried Alt-L and Alt-C and still sometimes it doesn't work paste the one
line correctly. Also notice the Alt-L Alt-C paste it one line below where
I want to copy. I want to copy a line from Column 1 and paste it on the
next line below it starting in Column 1 and I have never been able to get
it to work consistently since WDSC 7. Coping more than 1 line never gives
me issues, just 1 line by itself.

Thanks,
Jeff

I too would love to see some enhancements to the COBOL parser.

Jeff, are you using Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V to copy and paste?
If so, try Alt-L to mark the line(s) and Alt-C to copy them instead.

The Working-Storage section of the Outline view is the most disappointing.
I'd really like to see the cross-reference data there like you get with
RPG.

The one main thing I ever really requested and still really want, was
after
we moved on from WDSC 7, every time you highlight and copy one line of
code
and try to paste on the next line it doesn't work. The pasting stops at
Column 7, which is bad for us since first 5 columns was used to hold
Project numbers. When you copy and paste more than one line everything
works fine, it is just when coping and pasting one line. We are
currently
on RDI 9.1 and still have same issue. Basically since WDSC 7 I have not
seen any major improvement on COBOL side and would probably go back if it
was supported.

Curious on the outline view, I find it very useful just wondering what
specific feature does RPGers have that COBOL doesn't? I have not been
keeping up with the enhancements much since don't usually affect COBOL.
