Hi Darren

I admit to some surprise that you had to make a special compile command - do you invoke it from RSE, outside of the plugin for ALDON?

My comments are not a slam on you, just my observations.

We use Turnover - if I'm in a worklist, right-click and compile does it. Now I can override the create command first - based on the command already defined for the object type.

We have some who use RDi and do not yet use the Turnover plugin - I think we have some education to do. The SCM package is supposed to do the work - bundle things from separate source files into one work area, take care of library lists, take care of other administrative details.

I feel that we should work completely in the SCM environs and let the app do its thing to help us. Otherwise, we lose all the benefits, like conflicts in checkout and whatever else.

The colorrary to that is, we should never need to create special CREATE commands outside the environs of the SCM package.

Cheers
Vern

Yes, CM products do often have plugins. Sometimes the way they are

some benefit to creating your own custom compile command, depending on the
product.

I would second this comment.
Most if not all of the modern CMS have RDI plug-ins. The ones I have used,
TurnOver MDCMS do. I touched ACARD, but never implemented and they have
one. Working within their plugin results in the correct compile command
being used.
This based solely on my own trials and tribulations. Yours may vary. :)

Thanks,
Scott Johnson

I believe ARCAD has plugins for RDi. I would assume that it would provide
their compiler actions?
