This may sound very basic but I just downloaded iSphere, I am so new to
RDi we do not know how to install the plug-in, can anyone get me
started?
If you use the update site, it just... installs.
If you downloaded it, you have a .zip file. Extract that and remember
where you extracted it (I have a directory c:/addons). Start RDi, then
Help > Install new software... Click on the "Available Software Sites"
link near the top right. You're taken to a Preferences page where all
your repositories are listed. You'll want to Add... a new one. You can
click Add > Local and browse to the place you extracted your iSphere.
Mine is 'file:/C:/addons/iSphere for RDi 8.0+ (v2.5.2 Update Site)/' and
I cleverly named it 'iSphere local'. Once the repository is registered,
click OK and you're back to Available Software. In the Work With box,
select the repository you just registered. You'll then get a simple
looking entry for iSphere for RDi 8.0+ in the big box in the middle.
Check it, then click Next and you're on your way.
As you can see, it's much easier to use the update site!
