Subject: [WDSCI-L] "Copying" PF-DTA to client via RDi's "Make Available
Offline" generates a .OAR file
Right-click on a PF-DTA object in RDi, and you get an option on the
context menu to "Make Available Offline". You get a confirmation
dialog:
... <FileName> "will be downloaded and added to project" <ProjectName>
... Continue?
Taking the option to continue generates a file in the <ProjectName>
folder with the form: <FileName>.FILE.PF-DTA.oar
Using notepad to open these files shows compressed data. A google
search seems to indicate that the .OAR type is used by Open Simulator,
which "is an open source multi-platform, multi-user 3D application
server."
So, what does one use to open an .OAR file type created by RDi in
Windows?
