A quick-but-dirty workaround could be to change the name of the iSphere source file search to "A very handy iSphere source File Search" ;-)

Peter,

You are right. There is no way to change the order of the search tabs.

The order is pre-defined in file plugin.xml of the plug-in that contributes the search page (e.g. ):

<extension
point="org.eclipse.search.searchPages">
<page
tabPosition="0"
label="%iSeries.Search.Page"
enabled="true"
icon="icons/full/obj16/iseries_search.gif"
class="com.ibm.etools.iseries.rse.ui.search.SearchPage"
sizeHint="250,160"
id="com.ibm.etools.iseries.rse.ui.search.searchPage">
</page>
</extension>

In the example above, 'IBM I Search' specifies tab position "0", which moves the tab at the first position. Search tabs with the same tab position are ordered by name. Therefore you get the following sequence of tabs by default:

IBM I Search
iSphere Message File Search
iSphere Source File Search

Regards,

Thomas.

You can disable all other search types after clicking on "Customize". That way, only the iSphere searches remains.

Then again, I don't see any possibility to change the order of the search tabs, so the message file search would still be selected by default.

In a previous release, I seem to recall there was an option where we could set the default search. Then when you pressed Ctrl+H, that would be the search tab selected. I would like to press Ctrl+H and have the 'iSphere Source File Search' active. But now the first selected search always appears--namely in my case, 'IBM i Search'. I can disable preceding searches, but I would like to have at least the 'iSphere Message File Search' available.

Is my memory faulty or is the option to select a default search no longer available.

Thanks
