This is not supported by IBM but you can search over your workspace temp
files.

1. Open all members you want to search in
2. Open the search dialog and select the File Search tab.
3. Key in your search criteria.
4. Key in your file name pattern (usually leave it as * or *.RPGLE).
5. In the scope click on the Working Set bullet and then click on the
choose button.
a. Click on the new button if you do not have a working set
already defined.
6. Choose the resource type, Next.
7. Name the working set and then find the remote temp files you want to
search over.
8. Look for "RemoteSystemTempFiles" and expand until you see the source
file your open members are stored in on the server or just choose to
search over all remote temp files (not that
great of an idea). If you have an IASP attached you may have to open
the folder that is named similar to this (00033.ASP).
9. Select the items you want to include in your working set.
10. Now check the newly created woking set and click Ok to return to the
search tab.
11. Now click on the search button to begin.

I often use this method for RDi's version of refactoring since there is
no refactoring tool in RDI for RPG / CL code programmers. You will be
required to use regular expressions to be most accurate in your changes.

Thanks, Matt

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RDi 9.1.1. Search Open members. (HOW?)

Hi,

Is there a way to search in Open Members of RDI?

NotePad++ has the option to search all Open Documents. Does RDI have the
same thing? If so, how is that done?
