Kurt - as an aside to this thread - for multiple pastes you can actually use CA's Paste-Next function - take a look at the Edit menu - I've mapped it to Ctrl-N. Along with Ctrl-A for Edit-Append to add some text to what is already on the clipboard.

With this you simply page down in STRSQL and Paste-Next - it starts where you left off in a long clipboard item.

Right now I copy the SQL out, paste it into STRSQL. Which sometimes leads to wrapping. Sometimes there aren't enough lines so it requires multiple pastes (one set of lines on screen in STRSQL).
