Regarding the "Compare With" feature, the Preference setting for that is "General > Compare/Patch"...which does not support column settings, blank spaces, case, etc.
Regarding the "Compare to a File" feature, the Preference setting for that is "LPEX Editor > Compare"...which does support all of the above. However, this "Compare" is strictly a merge, while the "Compare With" is a visual side-by-side.
Neither one is really usable for our shop. After reviewing the forums it seems most people use a 3rd party plugin, or PDM 54 and 55. The concern of our development shop is the effect on the "change dates" of the source lines, which we depend heavily upon for our customer alert process.
There is mention of a "Compare Merge", but this appears to be only available with the RDz product? It basically is the same as the "Compare With", but also allows selective line merging. This would be extremely helpful if RDi had the same utility. How does the rest of the RDi community feel?
