Thomas,

If your workspace possible got corrupt, try creating a brand new workspace, just to eliminate that possibility...

I personally, always create a new workspace on an RDI upgrade myself. Although, I must admit it is sort of pain to re-apply all of my customization...
Also, by having different workspaces, I can compare my old RDI 9.0.1 with the newer RDi 9.1.

OH well, a text file with notes of my changed setting helps me set it up for a new workspace...

Ken,

Thank you for jumping in and trying to help.

I already checked the error log with no success. The error log does not contain anything regarding to the "save" problem. I strongly assume that my workspace got messed up, because with the corrupted workspace I get error messages that I do not get with a fresh one. Of course both workspaces are used by the same installation of RDi 9.1. Furthermore the plugin (iSphere Core) mentioned in the error log, is installed by the "dropins" folder and hence the same for both workspaces.

Here is the error log:

Thomas,

Trying checking the Error log, to see if you see any outstanding
messages...
window>Show View>Error Log

Something is askew.

Are you connected by VPN? Is the connection dropping?

Sorry, I am probably not much help, but want to mention to check the
error Log, for possible diagnostic message that might be helpful...

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RDi 9.1 does not save source members

Hi,

After I ugraded my RDi from 9.0.1 to 9.1.0 source members are not
saved any longer!

These are the steps I do:

a) Load source member from the RSE tree or a TurnOver worklist.

b) Apply some changes to the source member.

c) Press CTRL+S to save the member.

On the first save attempt a popup dialog (title = "Remote System
Connection") comes up asking me for the connection to be used by
actions which use remote information. The message text is: "Specify
the IBM i connection to be used by actions which use remote
information".

That is new and I wonder why RDi asks for the connection, because it
should know the connection the members belongs to.

So I:

d) Select the right connection.

e) Click the [OK] button.

As a result of the save action, the member is saved to the cache but
not to the System i!

In order to get the member saved to the i, I select "Save as" from the
"File" menu and save the member with a different name, which works
just fine. But when I try to save the member again (CTRL+S or File ->
Save) the dialog box mentioned above pops up and the problem is back
again.

Ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Thomas.
