Or read our Quick Start Guide Jerry - which is pretty much the same for RDi as WDSC as far as creating connections etc.

For the archives this sorta worked. That is, from the splash panel's install option there is no "Run as administrator" function. However, by displaying the contents of the CD in Windows Explorer, it is possible to "Run as administrator" on the launchpad.exe program.

Everything seems to be installed. Now I just have to remember (big *if*) how to configure the connection to the System i and define filters, etc. I may have to bring up the old XP machine and see how I did all of that. Or (heaven help me!) read the Help text.

Yes. When starting the installation, instead of double clicking, right click and select 'Run as administrator'.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] WDSc on Win 7

Just replaced my XP PC with a Win 7 PC.

The company's System i is running V5R1 and there is no chance they are going to upgrade (at least, not in my lifetime). But we do have a license for WDSc 7. However, when I try installing it on my Win 7 PC, though the splash panel comes up, it just sits there when I push the "Install" option.

I was afraid of this. Is there any way to install and use WDSc in Win 7?

Thanks.
