I just have my quote literals with a light-Green back-ground, as I do in my other Editors, NotePad++, Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc...

Anyway, it worked okay in RDi 9.0.1.

You have a weird background color set on the literals. I see green. Could you have some other non-standard background color set for the white space that might be overriding the current line color?
