How does one set the preferences for Local History? -- WDSCI-L

How does one set the preferences for Local History? RDi 9.0.1

From time to time I would like to set a current version of my work as a restore point, should I want to start over at a previous point. I see no easy way to do that. I suspect that means I have missed a setting or marker of some kind.
