I've run into this once in a while - not sure exactly what tells me I should do something, but it might be that there's no "synchronizing..." message - things seem to go too fast for a save.

What I do, usually, is the following sequence -

- Ctrl-A (selects everything)
- Ctrl-C (copies everything to clipboard)
- close the editor
- reopen the source member
- Ctrl-A (selects everything)
- Alt-D (deletes everything - simple delete doesn't always work)
- Ctrl-V (pastes everything from clipboard - the new stuff)
- Ctrl-S (saves back to IBM i)

I know - Yuk! I've just never liked creating a new member that I have to clean up, even though, in retrospect, it may be safer.

An alternative I sometimes use, IIRC, is to save the contents of the source member to a local text file before closing the editor.

This may probably usually happen when I've had a member editor open in RDi over several days, with stopping/starting RDi several times - I think!

Of course, that is likely not to be best practice - we'd never be able to do that in SEU, right? So why do I expect it to work elsewhere?

Try saving your changes to a new member so they are not lost then clear the

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RDi not saving changes back to system
Sent by: "WDSCI-L" <wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

RDi 9.0.1
I have a large source member that I am making changes to.
After I complete my changes, I save the source member. It *should* be
saving the changes back to the original source file/member on the remote
system, but it does not.
After the save is complete (the compile option is available when I right
click on the member, I view the source using SEU on the remote systems, and
my changes are not there.
If I close the member in RDi, and re-open it, it does not bring in the
source from the i, but rather from what appears to be the local copy that
it saves to prior to pushing the change to the i.

This just started happening today.
I have closed RDi and restarted it, and it downloaded the correct source
the first time, but after I made changes and saved it, I had the exact same
problem.

Ideas anyone?
