Maybe 9.2 can have Content-Assist Level Analysis so you can see just how much we use it. :)

Please understand that content assist for free-form RPG was not even in the release plans for 9.0.1 We stretched the team in order get content assist in the release rather than having to wait until 9.1 Thanks to your valuable feedback, you will have an improved version in 3 weeks time.
I think this worked out better for everyone.
I encourage everyone to try out the new free-format RPG. We will all benefit.

I agree. I've been overly excited about using the new free format RPG, but I get discouraged when the CA doesn't work properly. I too have opened up a PMR with IBM about it. Once thing I noticed was when you define a procedure interface and you want to specify the keyword "export", I found a bug in the CA. If you type part of the key word and press CTRL-space it comes out something like "exexport". IBM said they were able to reproduce the problem. I guess it now looks like I have to wait for RDi 9.1 in order to see this bug fixed. :-(

Mike, as an fyi, I've entered a number of PMRs in regard to content assist in 9.0.1. I'm hoping to see most of them fixed in the 9.1 release.

It's harsh when CA doesn't work (which is quite often when using the new freeform syntax).

With 9.0.1 I thought I was able to see what APARs were going to be fixed/implemented with the version. I'm not seeing that this time. Is there a link I should be clicking on that I'm not seeing?

Very excited about the release. Finally on PPA so I'm also hoping I'm successful in obtaining the new release as soon as it's released vs waiting for the ESS site to update weeks later, or even the trial which was many days later (which is years in excited-for-new-release years).

Barry,
If you haven't heard of Passport Advantage, then your business partner probably purchased this through the hardware channel (eConfig) so you will get the activation kit through the ESS website (or your business partner
will)

It will need a new license key.
The new news is that for PPA that license key can be obtained directly from PPA and you don't have to go to the Rational License Center.
Nothing changed for ESS, that always had the license key available.

Is this going to be a complete new install or an update to RDi 9.0?
It's sounding like it's going to be a new install. I like using the
new free format RPG, but have been a little discouraged because it
seems that the content assist in RDi 9.0 is a little buggy. I hope
they fixed a lot of these problems in the new version.

Not sure what Bruce referred to when he asked when RDI 9.1 will be
Available via "PPA" - but I'm not making much "progress..." getting a
connection with Installation Manager - has anyone been able to get the
9.1
update ?
