OK Linda - here's a wild shot!

In Preferences, under General, look for the Capabilities item.

In the list in there you should see an item, "IBM i Application Developer" - is it checked? Or is the checkbox filled in?

In any case, click on the Advanced button near the lower right. In there you should also see "IBM i Application Developer", but it has an arrowhead next to it - click on that to open up that item.

In THAT list you should see "IBM i Debug" - it needs to be checked, or you won't have it.

Who knows!

I appreciate all the responses, however, I'm still unable to fnd the debug setting for Update Production Files. There is no Run/Debug path under Preferences and when I type "debug" in the preferences filter, there is no selection for IBM i Debug. I see categories of: General/Tracing. JavaScript/Debug/Rhino/Validator. Remote Systems/Debug. Server/Launching/Runtime Environment. I've checked them all, but not finding it. I received my software license today so I tried uninstalling all and re-installing from scratch and I still don't find the preference. I would like to think I'll never need to debug again, but that sure isn't likely to happen!

In the Preferences window, there's a search box. That box is my first resource. It's not 100% but it doesn't take a lot of time to try it.
Put in 'debug' and you'll see all the preferences titled 'Debug'. The one you want is IBM i Debug

The browse path is Run/Debug > IBM i Debug

Welcome!
