Jim,

I'm not sure, but think something changed in the base Eclipse support
where the Alt-arrow keys are intended to move around in the source (and
whether intentional or not), it also changes the block selection. From
what I've observed, it appears that the block selection is changed to a
stream selection. I think we could select the lines, then use Ctrl+C to
copy the desired source to the clipboard, switch to the target editor tab,
and paste the source with Ctrl+V.

I believe the convenience of using the Alt+{left&right}arrow keys to
navigate between source editors is gone. Copying source from one member
to another is still possible, just a little more cumbersome. I'm sure
someone has an explanation the benefit derived from breaking our old
navigation and copying keystrokes, but I really liked how it used to work.

One other navigation trick is to use Ctrl+Shift+E. This brings up a
dialog where you can switch between editors or close editors. Sometimes I
use it when I've opened more editors than my brain can keep straight.

Re: [WDSCI-L] RDi 9.0 highlight and copy between members.

Michael,

Thanks for the Ctrl=E tip. I have never used, or had to use that. It
has
always worked to use the Alt+Arrow keys to go to previous or next editor
tab. It just seems to have broken for the 9.0 version. At least I
don't
remember using that functionality since I upgraded to 9.0.

Hi Jim,

The only way I've found to copy across members using only the keyboard
(like prior versions) is to:
-mark the desired lines of code in the from source member,
-press Ctrl+E, use the arrow keys to select the desired to source
member,
-press Alt+C to copy the lines

It's a couple more keystrokes, but it seems to work pretty
consistently--either that or resort to using the mouse to select which
editor tab you want to copy the lines into.
