Darren,

Like other eclipsey things, there's this ragged looking set of poorly drawn
dots along the left vertical edge of the thing. Mouse around over there
till you get a crosshair, then grab it and drag it. It looks like a
toolbar separator, but it's 10% bigger.

Just to highlight what Stu is saying here, if you "Hide Toolbar" in the

Buck,

No toolbar at all is definitely the way to go. I couldn't really see the
tiny pictures on the buttons anyway.

Quick Access is nice quick search box, like Visual Studio's "Quick

I like it, but I occasional use Visual Studio too!

Darren,

I'm able to dock it all over the place just by dragging it, it just looks
crappy no matter where you put it. Since I have never used it, not even
once, I hoped there'd be a checkbox to disable it somewhere -- but no, it
is apparently not a toolbar but some other sort of Eclipse-y thing.

Now if I can get rid of the equally silly "Quick Access" box, I'll be
pleased. The Eclipse help is so outdated as to be useless and doesn't
even
mention what it is for or to what I might need "Quick Access".

I was surprised when we lost the ability to "dock" it in different
locations. The best I've found is to right-click and remove the
descriptive text. That shrinks the bar down considerably. You can
also customize the perspective in Window to remove a lot of the extra
tool bar shortcuts you may not ever use.

Anyone have a trick for getting the ugly perspectives toolbar

a different color (a two-color fade actually), and does not act like

Eclipse 4 had a bug in toolbar handling. It's hard to say whether our
version has the fix or not.

If you like more screen real estate (like me) you can use Window ->
Hide Toolbar and the whole thing goes away. You may be able to tinker
the CSS but I haven't tried that on RDi 9 yet.
