Thanks Eric - Passport is not an option as I'm trying to use this with the trial version.

I can't see anything on the page you referenced about installing _into_ the RDi workbench. It sounds as if it is talking about a stand-alone install similar to what I currently have with Studio 1.3. Can it be installed into Rdi9?

Jon,

IBM Data Studio 4.1 is now included in the RDi 9.0 bundle and is available
as a separate download in Passport Advantage. It is not part of the RDi
9.0 install.

If you do not want to go to Passport to get it, you can also get it from
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24034614.

Thanks,
Eric

We did some experimenting with the basic version Theiry and I found the SQL
statement editor wizard to be very helpful in building complex joins etc.

You can read what we liked and didn't here:
http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com/ibmi/developer/websphere/data_studio/

I had found the Data Perspective and it seems a little better than before -
i.e. you can edit tables as well as just display content.

But I have a question for you and Edmund.

Exactly _how_ do i do this "separate install" - I've been all through the
"agent" package that I installed RDi9 from and I can see nothing there that
looks like Data Studio.

As Edmund said, it's a separate install.
However, the Data perspective is still there in RDI 9 and covers the
basic things.
So far, I can't say that I found a compelling thing in DS over the
already included stuff that would make me deploy it to our developers.
But I may have overlooked something, so if anybody has a feature they
like fell free to point it out.
Thanks.
Thierry.
