While the idea of creating an initial workspace with appropriate defaults and connections for those new to RDi is very good (we did that), I find that workspaces can become very large and have a lot of "temporary" stuff that we don't want to save.
We have written a plugin that, at startup, exports the preferences and zips the profile folder where connections and filters are stored to a location that gets saved daily.
