If I recall, when RDP 8.0 came out, the trial version wasn't available for a week or something like that. Customers with Passport Advantage Online are the ones that get access immediately. ESS customers or those who will download the trial and then apply their license have to wait longer.
I just spent close to a year pushing to get our ESS transferred to PPO. Almost there, but not quickly enough - I'll have to wait for the trial version. Can't wait, too. Fix list looks great.

Is there some instructions we can give them for downloading, installing and applying the license?
