You could also try right-clicking on the connection in the RSE tree and
selecting 'Work Offline' near the very bottom of the pop-up menu.

My guess is that RDP was trying to connect and lock the source members on
IBM i. You might try upgrading to 8.5.1. There were a lot of bug fixes
included.

[WDSCI-L] RDP 8.5 editing off-line but rdp keeps trying to connect -

I am trying to edit DDS members in LPEX and the RDP client keeps
locking up for 5 or 10 seconds at a time as I am working and
changing the source members.
So I decided to try to work locally on my workstation using a
Project. I have downloaded my source members and editing locally
and I am still getting the delays.
So I closed the connection to the Power 7. Now as I am working RDP
is trying to connect to the Power 7 as I make changes. The login
window pops up and I close it and it pops up again (5 or 6 times)
before I can continue.
How do I tell RDP to stop talking to the IBM i while I am working with
DDS?

Some notes:
1. This is RDP 8.5.0
2. This RDP behavior is not evident when editing RPG, CBL or CL.
3. We recently started using a co-location so my connection to the
Power 7 is remote and the delay in the connection to machine is a
new situation
4. Yes, I know I should be using DDL, but the current environment
dictates DDS

Thanks folks,

Paul
