Vernon,
Yup, that is the one I use, the RPGTOOLBOX from Linoma Software. I programmed it in as "User Action" to Convert/Update to Free RPG.
RDP "User Actions" works exactly as "PDM Options", exact same syntax.
For those newbies that don't know... <grin>
Craig Rutledge is Brilliant! I love his open source tools. I have learned so much from his code! Many Kudos to Mr. Rutledge!
I am just very glad that my employer had purchased the RPGTOOLBOX before I even came on board. I use it extensively to update my Free-indent....
I *think* someone put in a PFE for RDP to Indent/format code. The Code formatting for Java on Eclipse is AWESOME! You seem to have complete control for your formatting preferences! It would be "nice" to have something like for RPGLE. But, I have a work around, RPGTOOLBOX.
I should try Craig's tool, but currently I am back-logged on work again...
Oh well, back to work!

Linoma has tools for converting RPG stuff - no problem mentioning them, since I only sort-of applied once to work there and didn't get a job.
Craig Rutledge has some open-source tools, one does a nice job of converting source. Google his name and you'll find him - jcrcmds.com, I think it is. And free.

My problem I believe is caused by No Hard-Code Program Name in the
"PI" (a.k.a. New Style Entry parameters)... <grin>
I would recommend to use Free-Format for SQLRPGLE...
After all, SQL is Free-Format. And RDP has a nice built in Convert to
Free Format, if you do NOT already know about that... <grin>
Luckily, I get to do all my new work in Free-Format. No more Fixed format for me!
I have converted most of my programs to Free-Format when performing updates. Most, but not all...
There are 3rd party tools out there that do a much better job than
the IBM Conversion utility. But, unless they are FREE, I am not
supposed to mention them on this form... (The rules)
PS. I delete the Prototypes, since I am on V7R1M0, and the prototypes are NO Longer needed! <Joy Joy> But, that "New Procedure Wizard" still puts them out there, which I remove the prototypes.
I hate if I need to update the parameters in TWO places on a procedure. So, since V7R1M0 does not require them, I delete them! Besides, I can see the prototypes with the Code-Assist anyway!

Ken,
I have not been using >Source>New>Procedure I am on 8.0.3 for some time I just tried it and got the RPG Procedure - Create RPG procedure window I created MyNewSubPrc - seems OK I see the Prototype, the new sub proc, the outline was updated, nice . . .
Maybe (this from my experience) there is another "error"
causing 8.0.3 to "go away" - I have this problem,
seems to be caused by one of several conditions,
my latest was entering some embedded SQL and
neglecting to type the "+" on a fixed format
line within my SQL statement...minor things
like this seem to eventually cause RDP to exit . . .

Hi,
I must assume that IBM supports a few releases of RDP, just like it
does with the"IBM i". <Smile>
I am using RDP 8.0.3, and I am using this option:
Source>New>ProcedureIt blows up....
It worked in WDSC 7.0, rdi 7.5, rdp 7.6....
So, I have been using this for a Long time. I think it worked on WDSC 6.0 too, not sure.
Sadly, it just "KILLS" RDP, and no warning messages....
RDP just "goes away" with NO warning...
Has anyone else ran into this Error on RDP 8.0.3?
Yes, I can create my procedure manually, but why is it blowing up? Or am I the only one encountering this error?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!
