Just as information, and you may know this, but switching to the source view reveals the compile option when in DDS designer.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] "Compile" menu disappearing on DSPF editor

I have found a minor error and/or potential RFE in RDP v8.5.1. I saw something like this mentioned before (http://archive.midrange.com/wdsci-l/200611/msg00296.html) but it doesn't quite relate to the problem I'm seeing. My colleagues and I can reproduce it every time so I thought I would first try to find out if this is a common problem or something in our setup.

To reproduce this issue, open two source members, a DSPF (DDS) source and the related RPGLE program. The DSPF source opens into the DSPF designer by default, which doesn't have a Compile menu visible.

Taking "DSPF" as the DSPF designer, "DDS" as the DSPF source, and "RPGLE" as the related RPGLE source, you can make the Compile menu disappear from the DDS source view at will by switching between the source views in a particular order:
DSPF -> DDS -> RPGLE -> DDS = Missing Compile menu DDS -> RPGLE -> DDS = Restored Compile menu.
DSPF -> DDS -> RPGLE -> DDS = Missing Compile menu Etc.

Can everyone else reproduce this at will? I'm also thinking of raising an RFE to have the compile menu added to the DSPF view. This may even correct the missing menu issue I've just demonstrated.

-Paul.
