Ken, you could put a RFE in to get that beep. ;)
For some reason I've always hated having speakers on my work computer so I always disconnect them and give them back to the hardware people. When I'm working at home on my laptop I do hear the beeps when a line is too long and it drives me nuts.
Though like you, Ken, I consider myself very lucky that I am able to listen to music almost all day long.

Kurt,
I have my ear-buds plugged in "most of the time"...
And RDP beeps at me, when I have a source line too long, as I am typing...
After highlight lines with "ALT+L" to select lines, I use shortcut key "Cntrl+/" to comment...
You can use your mouse and right-click to get those options...
If the line is too long, to comment out, I get this message at the bottom of the LPEX editor:
"Text limit would have been exceeded on line xxxx. The operation has been canceled."
It does NOT beep, like when I type too long of comment line on the right-hand side. Or shift my code over too far...
PS. Shortcut keys are GREAT, if you take the time to learn a few.

Hi Michael,
It won't work if there are trailing spaces in the code. I don't know the scenario, but sometimes when a source file is opened, it comes with trailing spaces. Making a change and saving will eliminate the spaces. Also in the LPEX command line you can enter "trim" and that will also remove trailing spaces.

Using V8.03, I tried this in /Free block of code and this didn't work.
I am new to RDi and I am not sure that I am doing this exactly as I should, so is this a "bug"?
