Anyone know a good way to actually regain control of RDP 8.5 when a connection is broken?

I forgot to disconnect my connection when packing up at a conference site the other day and now the dang thing is just looping trying to connect to a (by now) non-existent system. I've tried using the Cancel button on the sign-on request - no joy. I've tried just "X"ing the control. I've tried every response possible to every dialog that appears and no go. I can't get control long enough to say "Work offline"

This was bad enough in 8.0.3 but in 8.5 it is a nightmare.

Dear IBM _please_ test your products by disconnecting from time to time.

So far the only "solution" I can find is to turn off the wireless (the other day I disconnected the ethernet cable) and then the stupid thing does seem to react appropriately.

I have to say I'm very very disappointed in this release. We seem to have gone back to the old unstable days of WDSC 7 - I've had more things break in a week in RDP 8.5 that I had in a year with 8.0.3. Seriously thinking of going back and taking the knock of having to start over with a new workspace.
