Well honestly my workspace seems to be working fine now, at least that I can see. I had issues when trying that New Window feature, but I was able to recover. It sounded to me that I may want to start fresh because there may be other lingering issues. If I started the workspace with -clean, I'd have no idea if it did anything to recover unknown underlying issues.

I would try starting with the -clean option before going to the extreme of a whole new workspace--unless you have very few filters and other options set up. I periodically use the -clean (like pretty much anytime I have
problems) and it can really help keep things running smoothly.

Sounds like your workspace has grown old and inconsistent.

I would suggest setting up a new workspace from scratch without
bringing anything over from your old workspace, and import your
sources from your source repository again.

I do this regularly as Eclipse gets very confused if I work with Maven
projects and switch branches in git if the Maven projects are different.

I struggled a bit with "Window -> New Window"
In my RDP 8.0.3 version: To open another source instance:
Right-click in an open source edit pane,
select View,
then Open New View (Ctrl+2)
