When I installed 8.5 it did not recognize my license. I'm fairly sure
that I only selected the IBM i features, but that was more than 60 days
ago. :)

What is the procedure to get our license back when it finally times out?
:(

When you install Rdp 8.5 make sure you only pick those features that
you already have a license too. Most likely this is the RPG and
COBOL for IBM i. If you pick the AIX features, then after the the 60
days, you won't have a license to run it any more. But if you pick
just the IBM i feature, then your current license will keep it going
beyond the trial period.

Jack,

I installed RDP 8.5 by going to the IBM rational website, and
downloading the trial. Once I installed the trial 8.5 on the 3
machines here in the office that already had a license, the software
recognized the license, and the permanent license was active.

Search for IBM rational RDP in Google. The first hit I got was the
right one.

Do I have to install a new installation manager?

Thanks

You can't really upgrade from 8.03 to 8.5. You have to install 8.5.

I bought a 1 year license to RDP. My about screen shows this:

IBM Rational Developer for Power Systems Software 5724-Y99,
5733-RDG,
5733-RDH, 5733-RDJ, 5733-RDC

Version: 8.0.3

Charles Guarino did a good session at Common on how to get started
with
RDP.
He also mentioned that 8.5 is out.

How do I upgrade? I tried installation manager but it doesn't show
RDP.
It
shows the license manager and the installation manager.

Thanks, Jack.
