Hi.

I read a very long time ago that IBM had a special package providing for up
to two licenses for any relevant development product where this would be one
of them, but I have been unable to locate exact details. It is relevant
for us because the right tools might make a difference but we do not have
the time to sit down and use a given tool intensely for a month to clarify,
but only when we have an actual need where the trials would have expired.

Would anybody have heard of such a developers smorgasbord?

Thanks

You probably want D0C5FLL for $913 retail. Our business partner just quoted
us the price for the trade up license from ADTS (PDM, SEU, etc.) for
substantial discount. I don't recall the exact price or what product code
was used. The discounted trade up price is only available if they can get
it ordered for you via Passport Advantage. I've downloaded the trial and am
awaiting the processing of the order so that I can apply the license.

We're also still on V5R4 for now. I've been using WDSc without too many
issues. But there are some odd behaviors that I would open a PMR on if it
were still under support. So far I've been very pleased with most of the
differences between WDSc and RDp. RDp is substantially faster. It also
includes the screen designer and report designer built-in.

We're actually on 5.4...I think the trade in for that expired a long
time ago...

Only looking at RDp because we've got developers getting Win7 systems..

Trade up does means that you give up a license for ADTS, but
depending on the size of your machine, as part of the upgrade to 6.1
you may
have
received more licenses than you actually use. For us, we had about
twice
the number of licenses as developers, so we could get the low price
for
everyone and still have enough ADTS licenses left so developers can
still use PDM/SEU.

Have a nice day.
Thierry.
