That is very interesting and a bit of a relief. The 2 issues that I reported in the 8.5 outline view work fine in the old version of the outline. This is a relief on 2 fronts. 1) I am not crazy and my memory is not playing tricks on me; 2) I know it will be fixed because it worked before.

I am not sure what the issue is with the source converted by CVTRPGSRC and we would appreciate you opening a PMR so we can address it. To get a headstart, if you send me a source file with that issue, I can start working on it.
But in the mean time, if you come across source for which the new outline view does not work, you can simply click on the divot in the toolbar of the Outline View, to access it's menu. If you select Preferences from that menu, you will be taken automatically to the Remote Systems->Remote Systems LPEX Edit->IBM i Parsers->ILE RPG preferences page. If you uncheck "Update the Outline view when text is changed in the editor" checkbox, then any ILE RPG files you open after this point will use the old PV-based outline view.
Remember to change it back for source that will work.
And keep the feedback coming so that soon no-one will ever have to turn on the old outline again.

Does anyone have a RPGLE program, converted by CVTRPGSRC, that they have opened in 8.5. None of the programs I tried, that have been converted from RPG to RPGLE, will display any part of the outline, even after I click outline refresh.

Paul,

You should probably contact Support and have a PMR opened so that we
can look at the source and investigate the reason.

Thanks,

Gang,

I have 2 RPGLE programs up in RSE in RDP 8.5.
The outline view for program 1 shows these categories:
Global Definitions

- Files

- Data structures

- Fields

- Constants

- Indicators

- Prototypes

- Key lists

- Parameter Lists
Main Procedure

- Parameters

- Subroutines

The Outline view for program 2 shows these categories:
Global Definitions

- Files

- Data structures

- Fields

- Constants

- Indicators

- Prototypes
Main Procedure

- Subroutines

I am missing 'key lists' and 'parameter lists' and 'parameters' from
program 2. I realized the difference when I was looking for a key
list
in
the outline program 2.
Both programs are RPGLE, There are no source code errors - both programs'
source code is clean and both programs compile.
Both have key lists and both have *ENTRY plists.
Yet program 2's outline shows no key lists and no parameters.

Is there a simple reason for this that one can point to?

Paul
