Thanks Paul, but there's something else going on here. I'm currently debugging with a SEP, and WRKACTJOB shows no such subsystem (unless you meant QSYSWRK, which is active in status DEQW). I appreciate the thought, though.

I have had issues with this in the past where QUSRWRK subsystem was not active. I was the only person using WDSC, everyone else was using PDM. I could start my WDSC session and run fine, but in order to use service entry points I would have to manually start QUSRWRK.

Time to re-open this thread with a different plea for help. I'm getting good at restoring my workbench from back-up, but after the third time in three weeks, it's time to ask, "Why is this happening, and what can be fixed so initiating a SEP doesn't trash the workbench?"

Most times I can start and run SEP debugs without issue, but on occasion, and recently too frequently, starting the SEP hoses the workbench.

The first hint of trouble is when I attempt to Set Service Entry Point (after starting the debug remote server), specifying the usual stuff in the dialog box, and clicking OK. The normal confirmation that "service entry point is set successfully" never appears. If after waiting 20 seconds or so, I close WDSC and then restart it, I get a window that the workspace is unavailable. I reboot the PC, and launch eclipse again, and I'm back to a workbench of a default configuration.

Anybody else feeling my pain? Any advice?
Again, this is WSDCi Version 7.0.0 on a MS Vista 32-bit machine (4.0 gb ram, 228 gb free disk), connected to i 7.1

Thanks much.

I'm sure there is something in the archives about this, but I can't get to http://archive.midrange.com/wdsci-l today.(???) Anyway, I'm running WSDCi Version: 7.0.0 on a MS Vista machine. It behaves nicely most of the time, and it's been pretty stable. Today however, I was trying to start a SEP debug session, and it wouldn't go, so I closed everything and rebooted. When I launched the eclipse shortcut, my familiar workbench that I've been so fond of for a couple years was replaced by what I'm guessing is a default config. I recall this happening once before, but it has been a long time, so I don't recall what I had to do to recover my set-up. I recall I found my filters and such deep in the ...\.eclipse\RSE\WSDC\RemoteSystemsConnections\ folder, and I can locate that, but I don't remember what I did with it.
What is the trick to recovering and getting me back to familiar territory?

TIA
Michael Koester
