Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] RDP 8.5 - Content Assist not updating with Outline Auto-Refresh
Kurt,
The Outline view now has the automatic update ability. However, the other tools in the editor still need to be updated to use the new model that has been developed.
For now, the Refresh button in the Outline view will update the information that Content-Assist uses. If you do a verify, it will also be updated.
This is the same as in the previous release.
Also, the Refresh button needs to be used if external information (copy members, external files) have changed.
Please feel free to open a RFE for a 'live' content assist. We regularly review the RFEs and they do influence our direction.
Thanks,
Eric

It appears that the automatic refresh of the outline is not always picking up field definitions and/or is not synching up with content assist.
For example, I'll be creating a procedure, adding in the variables, then moving onto the freeform C-specs and content assist has no idea about the D-specs. When I open up the outline, I see that the variables are there, and they have definitions applied to them. It's not until I click on the manual outline refresh button that content assist is aware of these new D-specs.
Another scenario is when I'm copy/pasting a procedure into the source. The new procedure shows up in the outline, but all the D-spec values have an Unknown data type.
Thanks,
