The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
I use the Search functionality often. The IBM i Search works well for most searching I use this tool for. Today I wanted to try something new for a particular situation I am working on and added the Remote Search tab. I entered a search string, left the file name patterns alone, and clicked on the Browse button for Folder. I changed the Connection from Local to the System i defined in RDP, then expanded the File systems branch. I clicked on QSYS.LIB, and see "Fetching children of /QSYS.LIB" at the bottom. It's now been 45 minutes and nothing has happened (I would have hoped going to lunch and coming back it would have changed). Clicking Cancel does nothing but ensures I have to abruptly end my RDP session. I would expect it might take a few moments to get that list...but 45 minutes and nothing yet???
Is there some reason why this seems to be infinitely stuck trying to fetch this information? And why Cancel won't cancel? I know when I am doing a search under the IBM i Search tab and I click cancel, once it finishes searching a particular member, it responds. But here it doesn't. Still the bigger issue is why I don't get a list under QSYS.LIB.
Anyone else have this issue?
