Answer my own question : yes it must be a bug, I changed the wrong function
key to CF in the properties view. The DDS was modified accordingly. Saved.
No further modification via the buttons in the properties view is possible,
I need to close the editor and start again.
What a pity it's the first thing I tried!

the DDS source and now the property view changes, showing CA on the
function key F23.

What good is that? Is it a bug?
