I have Java 6 on my machine but I ran the update to make sure I had the
latest updates and it said I did. And java in my web browser was enabled
but I just tried it again and it looks like it's going to work this
time. Not sure what was different but hopefully I'm good to go now as
far as the downloading.

IIRC, Download Director uses Java.

Do you have java installed on your machine and the Java plug-in
installed in the browser?
