Just my $0.02 FWIW ...

I was looking at the current list of open RFE;s for RDp and I would like
to highlight what Edmund has so kindly pointed out below. The Request For
Enhancement (RFE) process is just that - a request to enhance the
operation of the product from it's current design. The goal is to suggest
ways that the product can be improved to help you do your job better.

The RFE process is NOT a mechanism to report bugs or defects (incorrect
output, crash, hang, etc.). For questions, concerns, defects, and things
of that ilk please use the Rational Support Portal and open a Service
Request (PMR).
http://www.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/Open_service_request/

If you are in doubt then I would suggest opening a PMR first. If the
behavior reported in the PMR is really a design change and not a defect
(i.e., the product is actually working the way it was designed to work)
then you will be advised to open an RFE. The same is true, I would think,
in the case of an RFE where a defect is reported you would be advised to
open a PMR but the turn-around time to investigate and respond to an RFE
is much much slower.

This would be a bug not an enhancement so opening an RFE is not the way to
go.
You want to go through your regular service channels and open a PMR/APAR
so
the bug gets fixed - you will get faster response that way.

Hi Jeff

That sounds really strange to me, and I'd report it as a bug, if it is
happening this way.

I'm using RDp 7.6, and I have source with both CTDATA arrays and regular
arrays. Both show up in the Fields section - global level in this case.
As an example, here are the D-specs for a CTDATA and for a run-time array
-

D DAYS S 2 0 DIM(12) CTDATA PERRCD(1)
D DASH S 1 DIM(104)

When I look in the Fields list, I see this, with each expanded to show
usage (I'll fake the layout, since we can't attach stuff here)

- DASH : Character (1) DIM(104)
+ 2582 (M)
- DAYS : Packed Decimal (2,0) DIM(12)
+ 1265
+ 1815

So if you do NOT get this, I consider that to be a bug - I've been able
to see any and all arrays for years in the various versions of WDSC and
RD*.

You could even submit it at that RFE site that was posted about here!

Vern,
I can see my compile time arrays in the fields section, but no other
arrary
defined with the Dim keyword.
They do not show anywhere in the outline view.

This creates a lot more work to try to find where the array is used as I
have to
search the code for the string Arr(..

Hmmm - I've always seen arrays - they will have a dim() indication in
the description, not in the name.

Is this a setting that I missed or a possible bug?
