Exactly. The immediate availability is in the Zend IDE and the MS IDE.

I'd say that's a drawback to the outline as well. When I work in NetBeans
the real-time outline is wonderful.

I believe the RDp outline should be real-time, and only need a refresh to
update definitions based on source that is not within the source member
(unless there's a real-time way to deal with that as well).

That's a drawback to content assist in WDSC IMO. It would be nice if I
could
add a new variable, and then go in my code and use it without having to
remember/wait for a refresh.

Yes, you need to refresh the outline in order for content-assist to know

Am I mistaken in my understanding about content assist? I think that if
you
add a new variable for instance (in the D specs), I have to refresh the
outline in order for WDSC to find that variable later when I want to use
content assist. Is this correct, or am I doing something wrong?

Charles;

I think the content assist is a fantastic tool and I can't even imagine
not
using it anymore. All I was looking for was if anyone else would like
to
see
further enhancements to it and what they would like them to be. Granted
if
we ever see those enhancements is another thing but I thought it would
be
of
interest to the list.

I was not even thinking of comparing WDSc to SEU in this thread.

Thanks
Andy

I agree that there's plenty of room for improvement in context assist.

But the color coding, outline view, 48+ lines of code, scrolling via
the mouse wheel, and unlimited undo/redo all make WDSc and it's
successors more productive than SEU ever dreamed of.

And until those are tackled, I'll happily stay with SEU and use
