No, it's the pound sign. For example, if I have a program ENV£, I need to call MYLIB/ENV£ as I have always done in WDSc.
Here's the message returned <Le qualifiant commençant par 'ENVÂ# ' contient des caractères incorrects>

Now, if I don't qualify the ENV£, the program is called, ie the <£> is accepted. Trouble is, it's the version of the program in the library associated with my profile and not the one I want.

not allowed in a program name.

In Rdp 7.6 my connection won't work as I call a program who's name
ends with <£>. In the job log this character appears as <Â#>.
Is there a preferences setting for this?
