Oh, I've haven't used STRRSESVR for years, so I cannot help you with
that. Personnaly, I've never needed it, so perhaps I don't understand
what it's good for. My recollection is that SEP totally negated the
need for STRRSESVR when using the debug client.

Connecting remotely could easily cause this problem, depending on how
that remote connection is supported. We use a SSL proxy to tunnel into
our network, and the proxy itself acts as a firewall, requiring all
ports to an address to be defined. We had to scour the documentation to
figure out all the ports...

In this case, SEP debugger normally runs on port 3825, I think. Check
with your network admin.

All of that looks fine, There are no error messages and everything is
running in the correct place.
Since the STRRSESVR was giving me an error, it looks like the iSeries
cannot find my PC's IP address.
I am connected remotely so most likely that is part or all of the issue.
Either firewall or some translation is probably going on.
Will pursue it through the network group. Thanks for all the
suggestions. Got me to think and look in more detail.

Callback port 4300 is not really used anymore, I think. You really need
to follow the instructions on the IBM support document to ensure that
your QUSRNOMAX jobQ is attached to the correct subsystem.

That's interesting, QB5ROUTER is running in QUSRWRK and QB5ROUTE is
running in QSYSWRK. This is also true when I start it from WDSC. I just
verified the connection and while the PTF's for the debugger look OK I
see there is a problem with host callbacks. The callback to my PC on
port 4300 failed.

What subsystem are those jobs running in. As I recall, there was a time
when these jobs would get started in the wrong subsystem.

Using WDSC 7.0.0.8, on this iSeries, I have never gotten an SEP to
appear on the list. I get an error message if the debug server is not
started. I can start the server which starts two jobs:

QB5ROUTER USRPRFXXX BATCH ACTIVE PGM-QB5ROUTER

QSYSJOBD USRPRFXXX BATCH ACTIVE PGM-Q5BROUTE

When I attempt to set a SEP, either in table view or from the library
list, there is no error, nothing happens at all. I have used this in the
past on a different system with no problems.

From searching the archives, there are questions about this job :
QB5PHSRV - which is not running on this system. Could that be the
problem?

Thanks for any help, I miss using this debugger!
